Saudi Re, a MENA region reinsurer, has announced the appointment of Ruchi Jain as Principal Officer of its IIO-GIFT City, India Branch.
In January 2026, Saudi Re obtained approvals from Saudi and Indian authorities to open a branch in GIFT City, India.
Having been active in the Indian market for over a decade, Saudi Re established its local presence following new regulations favouring domestic firms and international reinsurers with local branches.
Ruchi joined Saudi Re in May after more than a decade with Swiss Re, where she most recently served as Vice President and Senior Client Underwriter. During her tenure at the global reinsurer, she held multiple positions increasing in responsibility.
Prior to her time at Swiss Re, the executive was an Assistant Vice President at Howden Insurance Brokers India Pvt. Ltd.
Her extensive background also includes serving as a Reinsurance Broker for PINC Insurance, a composite insurance brokerage house and an accredited Lloyd’s of London broker based in Mumbai.
“With her extensive experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry, Ms. Ruchi will play a key role in strengthening our presence in the Indian market and delivering innovative reinsurance solutions to our clients and partners,” a Saudi Re spokesperson commented.
Adding: “Her appointment marks an important step in supporting the launch of our new branch in India and expand Saudi Re’s footprint across the Asian markets.”
