Sarah Ruberry joins Enstar as Group Chief Compliance Officer

Sarah Ruberry has joined the Enstar Group, a Bermuda based re/insurance and run-off specialist, as Group Chief Compliance Officer.

enstarRuberry brings over two decades of industry experience to her new role. Prior to Enstar, she served for almost three years as CEO of Catalina General, a wholly owned Bermuda-domiciled reinsurance company of Catalina Re.

Before that, Ruberry was part of StartStone Insurance for close to two years. During this time, she held a couple of roles, including Chief Risk Officer of StarStone US and Consulting.

She also spent almost two years at The Argus Group as Global Property and Casualty Controller, and close to eight years as Senior Vice President – Corporate Controller at Validus.

Prior to Validus, Ruberry spent over six years at PwC, where she served as Senior Manager, Commercial Insurance Group, following her role as Supervisor, Insurance Advisory.

The Bermuda-based company has also recently reported its second quarter of 2023 results. The Group saw a substantial increase in net earnings, to $21 million, in the period.

Combined with Q1, Enstar’s net earnings for the first half  of 2023 now stand at $445 million, much improved compared to a net loss of $701 million for the six months ended June 30, 2022.
