SCOR Global Life Americas has reported a series of changes to its Senior leadership, naming Von Peterson as Group Reinsurance team’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Brian Anderson’s promotion to head of Group Life & Accident product lines to succeed Mark Laulainen who is set to retire from the role in January 2018.
Peterson will be responsible for management of sales, marketing, and relationships with clients and distributors for Group Life & Accident products, while Anderson assumes management of operational leadership and overseeing SCOR’s Group Life & Accident reinsurance strategies.
Laulainen will transition to a senior advisor position prior to retiring from SCOR.
He has served the insurance and reinsurance industry for over 40 years, and was key to building Generali’s Group Life & Accident reinsurance and then ensured a successful transition to SCOR when Generali was acquired in 2013.
SCOR said the personnel changes mark an important step as the firm positions itself for further expansion in the U.S. Group Life & Accident reinsurance market.
Kelly Munger, Senior Vice President, Group Reinsurance, said; “I am excited about the experience we are adding to the team with the addition of Von and the promotion of Brian to lead the team into the future.”
Peterson brings 18 years of group insurance experience at Securian Financial Group, having established the Group Client Relationships department at Securian and built an industry leading team in client service, persistency and sales.
Anderson is an industry veteran with over 20 years experience who worked as second vice president at Securian and its subsidiary Minnesota Life before joining SCOR.
Munger said that the firm has additional hires in process to “continue to strengthen SCOR’s Group Life & Accident product knowledge.”
She added; “Mark has been instrumental in positioning SCOR for this expansion, and on behalf of SCOR I thank Mark for the knowledge and strong leadership he brings to our Group Life & Accident business.”
