Société Centrale de Réassurance (SCR) has officially rebranded as Atlantic Re as part of its dynamic strategic transformation aimed at strengthening its position in Morocco and accelerating its influence across the African continent.

Since its establishment in 1960, the reinsurer has played a central role in shaping Morocco’s insurance sector, covering major risks and supporting the national economy during critical periods.

With a turnover of around MAD 4 billion in 2024—nearly 30% of which is generated internationally—Atlantic Re is on a trajectory of continuous growth, both in Morocco and across the Middle East and Africa.

The company supports operators in more than 70 countries, works with over 500 partners, and operates three regional offices in Abidjan, Kigali, and Cairo.

The rebrand is part of Atlantic Re’s Reach 2030 strategic plan, which aims to reinforce its leadership in Morocco while accelerating its presence and impact across Africa.

As part of this strategy, Atlantic Re is working to build a more local, agile reinsurance system capable of supporting the continent’s evolving needs.

Sarah Mahmoudi, Head Of Legal Department at Atlantic Re, said, “This rebrand represents more than just a name change, it’s a reflection of how far we’ve come and where we’re headed.”

Ouafae Mriouah, CEO of Atlantic Re, added, “Atlantic Re embodies a national ambition. It expresses our desire to contribute to a more resilient, more influential Morocco, focused on Africa.”

The company’s mission, values, and team remain unchanged, with Atlantic Re continuing its commitment to delivering trusted, forward-thinking reinsurance solutions.
