SEADRIF Insurance Company has appointed Su Hoong Chang as Board Director, effective June 20, 2024.
Based in Singapore, Chang has over three decades of experience across the sector, bringing a deep degree of expertise and insights from her previous work with regulatory bodies, international financial institutions, and national authorities.
In her most recent appointment with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), Chang served as the company’s Chief Representative of MAS in Beijing.
In this role, she led the MAS Beijing office in developing strong relationships with key stakeholders across China, as well as enhancing connectivity between the financial sectors of China and Singapore.
Throughout her 15-year tenure at MAS, Chang served in a variety of leadership roles, including Head of the Internal Audit Department, Director of the Securities Regulatory Development Division, Deputy Director of the Supervisory Policy Department, and Assistant Director of the Insurance Department.
As well as this, Chang also previously served as a Senior Financial Sector Expert with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, D.C.
In this role, she contributed to the organisations global financial stability surveillance.
In addition, Chang also participated in 19 Financial Sector Assessment Programs where she assessed the insurance regulatory and supervisory regimes of IMF member countries according to international standards.
She also provided technical assistance to national authorities to build supervisory capacity.
And lastly, Chang’s private sector experience includes previously managing regulatory affairs/policy and conduct risk of a major bank, Principal/Director of a regulatory/compliance consultancy firm, and a stint as a Finance Manager with a reinsurer and tax consultancy with a public accounting firm.
