Seamus MacLoughlin has joined North End Re, a Bermuda-based reinsurance subsidiary of Brookfield Reinsurance, as Chief Actuary.
The announcement was made via LinkedIn, with MacLoughlin joining the firm after three years with Enhanzed Reinsurance, where he served as Chief Executive Officer.
Prior to Enhanzed, MacLoughlin spent almost six years as Chief Underwriting Officer at Allianz Re, Bermuda. Collectively, he has over fifteen years of experience working in the re/insurance sector.
North End Re launched in 2021 and was assigned a Financial Strength Rating of A- (Excellent) and a Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating of “a-” (Excellent), with a stable outlook from AM Best the same year.
In November of 2021, the company closed its first transaction, reinsuring $1.6 billion of fixed deferred annuities.
North End Re’s parent, Brookfield Reinsurance, announced this year that it completed its acquisition of American National in an all-cash transaction, valued at approximately $5.1 billion.
