Insurer Ryan Specialty has appointed Sean Ryan to Ryan Re Underwriting Managers, a managing general underwriter in property and casualty treaty reinsurance, as Executive Vice President.
Building upon the reinsurance business that Ryan Re has built since its founding in 2019, Ryan joins to lead the firm’s strategic business development.
He has held several senior roles in reinsurance underwriting and broking throughout his career. Ryan founded and served as President of specialty reinsurance-focused Trean Intermediaries, established in 2013 and ultimately acquired by BMS in 2021, when Ryan assumed the role of Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of US Reinsurance.
