Tysers Singapore, a specialist insurance and reinsurance broker, has announced the appointment of Prantika Sengupta as Director of Marine Claims & Client Relations.

A strategic leader with 15 years of experience across maritime law, insurance and reinsurance, claims management and dispute resolution, Sengupta brings a strong track record in handling intricate cargo claims, contractual disputes, and maritime insurance liabilities across various jurisdictions to his new position.

Most recently, she served as Global Director – Legal at Sealead Shipping, and previously held the position of Deputy General Counsel & Head of Claims and Insurance for APAC at CMA CGM.

For Tysers, this senior appointment reflects the company’s commitment to providing exceptional marine claims expertise and client service across the APAC region.

In her new position, Sengupta will work under the guidance and leadership of Chris Sydernham, Chairman of Claims, to enhance the firm’s prominent claims offering and support clients across the marine portfolio.

Additionally, she will collaborate closely with Marlena Truszczynska, Head of Shipping Claims in London, who joined Tysers in February from Norwegian Hull Club where she held the role of Vice President, Claims.

William Furness-Smith, interim CEO, Tysers Singapore, stated: “We are thrilled to welcome Prantika to Tysers. Her exceptional market standing and extensive expertise in marine claims will further strengthen our capabilities across APAC at an exciting stage in our growth.

“As we continue to broaden our insurance and reinsurance offering, her leadership and technical knowledge will be instrumental in enhancing the service and value we provide to clients throughout the region. Just as importantly, Prantika brings tremendous energy, passion and commitment to the shipping industry, qualities that align perfectly with the culture and ambitions of our business.”

Commenting on her appointment, Sengupta said: “I am extremely excited to join Tysers and look forward to working with colleagues in Singapore, and Chris and Marlena and their team in London, to further strengthen our claims capabilities, support clients and understand their needs, and contribute to the firm’s continued international expansion.”
