Parametric specialist, Skyline Partners has appointed Christophe Neves as its continental European representative.

Neves, a market veteran with extensive experience in the insurance industry, will be based in Paris and will primarily focus on business development and client relations as Skyline expands its parametric services to customers in France and beyond.

Having started his career at prominent insurance companies such as Axa and AIG Europe, Neves later held the position of Group Actuarial and Underwriting Services Director at Allianz Worldwide Partners. He subsequently ventured into the realm of start-ups and insurTech, co-founding the digital platform Yakman in 2016 and serving as its CEO.

In 2018, he joined the newly re-formed AIG Europe SA as Chief Risk Officer, followed by his role as COO Risk and Capital at Wakam, a digital B2B2C insurer, in 2020. This year, Neves launched InsurtechStudio, a venture supporting start-ups in product development within the insurance sector.

Laurent Sabatié, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Skyline Partners, expressed his enthusiasm for Neves’ appointment, stating,”It is terrific to have an individual of Christophe’s stature supporting Skyline’s continued growth.”

“Parametric insurance products are new, and promise a radical change to the way businesses are insured. Christophe’s wide connections in the continental insurance sector, his deep understanding of insurance product development, and his broad leadership experience in the entrepreneurial environment of insurTech will be a huge asset for Skyline as we grow,” Sabatié added.

“I am excited to support Skyline in their work to transform data and ideas into practical insurance products. Without them, only the largest brokers, reinsurers, and a handful of specialists have had the resources to create, operate, and market viable parametric products, but Skyline’s services allow anyone to launch a parametric insurance solution. I look forward to showing colleagues old and new how Skyline can create and manage innovative new products on their behalf,” Neves commented.

“Now that we have live insurance products with a range of partners and clients in the UK, US, Caribbean, and on the continent, demand is multiplying for our services as the parametric catalyser. Christophe promises to be an enormously valuable resource as we grow the company and the global market for parametric insurance solutions,” Gethin Jones, Skyline Co-Founder and Executive Director, commented.
