Sollers has opened a new US-based office and appointed a new country manager for its presence in Japan.
The company said the two developments were related to its attempts to expand its business in North America and Japan. It also said that the US office will be headed by Justin Hall, vice president of North America for Sollers. Meanhile, Douglas Shumway has been named as its country manager in Japan.
Michal Trochimczuk, managing partner and co-founder of Sollers Consulting, said: “I am delighted to welcome Justin and Doug to our team. Their experience will be very valuable to our clients in the U.S. and Japan. Efforts to accelerate digital transformation are becoming more serious. Initiatives taken in Japan and the US are contributing to Sollers’ growth. We look forward to more intensive cooperation with insurers in the U.S. and Japan.”
Shumway is joining the firm from KPMG. Previously, he worked for various insurers and financial organisations within Japan. As country manager, Sollers said Shumway would be responsible for the company’s ongoing projects and business expansion within the country.
At the same time, Sollers’ Tokyo office moved into a new office at the same time. The enlarged Sollers team in Japan includes consultants with extensive knowledge of the insurance industry and highly skilled IT professionals. In total, more than 50 Sollers employees have hands-on experience implementing core systems in Japan.
