Business and IT consultancy firm, Sollers Consulting, recently won a tender to implement a new rating engine at the oldest mutual car insurer in the U.S., Amica Mutual.

handshakeThe U.S. insurer is set to decommission its existing legacy rating engine to increase the speed to market of rating changes and to support new advances in rating plan data and precision.

This new project is the latest in a string of modernisation efforts at Amica, which have increased the company’s level of digitalisation.

Marcin Pluta, Managing Partner at Sollers, commented: “We are happy to support Amica. With our common experience in remote work we can continue projects even under the difficult conditions we are currently witnessing. Amica has proven its impressive ability to innovate and digitalise.

“The implementation of a new rating engine will be a decisive step forward in digitalisation. The actions we have taken are very encouraging.

“We are grateful to continue our partnership with Amica. The insurer’s management follows a strong digital ambition. It is an honor for Sollers Consulting to contribute to this effort.”

The pair have collaborated previously to develop a middle layer mechanism for creating policy documents based on the Guidewire PolicyCenter policy administration system.

Peter Moreau, SVP and CIO at Amica, said: “We have previously partnered with Sollers Consulting to achieve our technology goals and are confident in their ability to deliver complex projects in a highly self-managed delivery model.”
