Sompo, a global provider of property, casualty, and specialty insurance and reinsurance, has appointed Christian Silies as President of Europe Reinsurance.
Silies brings more than two decades of industry experience, with expertise spanning specialty, marine, and energy lines.
He joined Sompo in March 2022 as Head of Global Marine & Energy, and most recently served as President, Zurich Branch and Head of Global Specialty, Reinsurance.
Prior to joining Sompo, Silies spent more than three years as Head of Marine, Energy, and Composite at Aon.
Before that, he spent 14 years at Hannover Re, where he held several roles, including Senior Underwriter Marine, and most recently General Manager Marine & Energy Treaty.
