Sompo, a provider of insurance and reinsurance solutions, has appointed Martyn Benson as Chief Operating Officer for its UK business as the company continues to develop its platform and build on the opportunities arising from the integration of Sompo and Aspen.
Benson brings extensive experience in financial services consulting, operational improvement and executive leadership, with 10 years focused on consulting and operational excellence, alongside 17 years holding senior operational roles across the UK, EMEA and APAC markets.
Prior to joining Sompo, he was Chief Operating Officer, International Insurance, at Bermuda-based carrier Everest.
In his new position, Sompo said Benson will focus on improving operational performance, supporting business growth and helping advance the company’s UK strategy and proposition.
The appointment represents a further step in Sompo’s continued investment in its UK operations and leadership capabilities following the integration of Sompo and Aspen.
