Sompo, a provider of commercial and consumer property and casualty (P&C) re/insurance, has appointed Pablo Diago as Chief Claims Officer, for the firm’s commercial and consumer insurance business in Asia Pacific (APAC), effective immediately.
Based in Singapore, Diago will report to Kenneth Reilly, Chief Executive Officer, Insurance, APAC. He will also join the firm’s APAC executive team.
In his new role, Diago will be expected to lead the regional Claims function for both Commercial and Consumer businesses, where he will focus on operational excellence and service governance across all channels, in addition to developing talent and capabilities.
Diago joined Sompo in November 2023, taking on the role of Head of Claims Commercial Lines, APAC.
Prior to joining Sompo, he spent two years working at Crawford & Company, where he served as Regional Head of Major Claims – Asia.
In addition, Diago also previously worked at HDI Global SE, where he held the role of Claims Manager for over five years.
Addressing Diago’s appointment, Reilly said: “Pablo joined Sompo a year ago and has been pivotal in driving our operational strategy.
“With his technical expertise and deep understanding of APAC’s risk environment, I am confident that Pablo will lead the region’s Claims team through enhanced processes to ensure operational and service efficiency and effectiveness.”
