INSUREtrust, a cyber insurance and risk management specialty broker within CRC Group, has hired Sonja Kozel as Senior Vice President.
In her new role, Kozel will focus on broadening the group’s footprint through internal collaboration as well as expanding and strengthening retail brokerage partnerships.
The executive brings more than a decade of insurance experience to INSUREtrust. She is joining the company after three years with cyber insurer Cowbell, where she most recently served as SVP, US Sales & Distribution.
During her time at Cowbell, she managed the carrier’s largest broker relationships and helped to expand key strategic partnerships as the company continued making cyber insurance accessible to all insurance buyers.
In addition to standard transactional deals, Kozel played a key role in identifying, producing, and shepherding specialty pool and affinity programs. She was also charged with shaping strategy for all national association and aggregator relationships.
Kozel also previously held roles at Markel Specialty, as well as with Berkshire and Hathaway Homestate Companies.
In her new role at INSUREtrust Kozel will report to the company’s CEO Christiaan Durdaller, who commented: “We are excited to bring Sonja on board with INSUREtrust. She is very well respected by the brokering community and will be an incredible asset to our team.
