Specialist global insurance and reinsurance firm Hiscox Group has announced the appointment of Helen Cooper as new Chief Actuary.
With over a decade of consultancy experience, Cooper brings expertise in general insurance, global insurers covering domestic retail business, corporate, and London Market products to the role.
She will be moving to Hiscox Group from auditing service company KPMG LLP, where she worked as Actuarial Director.
Hiscox Group Chief Financial Officer Aki Hussain, who Cooper will be reporting to, said;“Helen is an excellent addition to our finance team. She brings a strong technical background combined with an excellent understanding of both the Retail and big ticket Lloyd’s insurance business.”
As Hiscox Group Chief Actuary, Cooper will work closely with Hussain and the business actuarial team to align and drive Group-wide efficiencies.
Since 2008 Cooper has served as Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, and as founding chair of the “Women in the Actuarial Profession” working party within the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, she has advocated for addressing gender imbalance in senior positions through supporting the development of female talent within the profession.
