Specialty Program Group LLC (SPG), a national operator of specialty insurance businesses, has acquired ANOVA Marine Insurance Services, LLC, a managing general agency (MGA) focused on marine, cargo, transportation, and logistics insurance.
The acquisition is intended to strengthen SPG’s position in these sectors while allowing ANOVA to access broader distribution resources.
ANOVA, established in 2011 and based in South Florida, offers insurance solutions to clients involved in freight forwarding, shipping, customs brokerage, and international trade.
The company has developed its own digital tools to streamline underwriting and claims, with operations supported by a network of carrier partnerships and global correspondents.
Founder and President Bradford Boyd will continue to lead the business following the acquisition. Boyd, who entered the industry in his teens while living in Buenos Aires, has overseen ANOVA’s growth over the past decade, positioning it as a niche provider within the marine insurance market.
ANOVA has also expanded its leadership team as part of its growth strategy. Andrew Voke has joined as Senior Advisor. With over 40 years in the insurance industry, Voke has held senior roles at Chaucer Syndicates and Marsh. He is expected to provide guidance on long-term business development and help maintain market relationships.
Erin Boll joins as Director of Underwriting. She has over 20 years of experience in logistics insurance and previously served as SVP of Logistics at DUAL North America. Anthony Clark, also formerly with DUAL, has been appointed Associate Director of Underwriting. His focus will be on building ANOVA’s presence in the US transportation insurance space.
Logan Pearce, who previously worked as Associate Counsel at Falvey Underwriting, will now lead claims and recoveries for ANOVA. He will oversee claims processes and support operational improvements.
ANOVA will continue operating under its current name and leadership, maintaining its day-to-day operations independently. Additional hires are expected in the near future, aimed at supporting the agency’s expansion within SPG’s network.
“Joining SPG allows us to scale faster while staying true to the values that built ANOVA – original underwriting, nimble claims, and versatile coverage,” added Boyd.
“With SPG’s support and expansive distribution network, we’re well-positioned to bring our technology-driven approach to a broader set of clients and broker partners. We’re thrilled about this next chapter.”
