Risk transfer and investment platform Vesttoo has announced the appointment of ILS industry veteran and investment executive Stefano Sola as its Global Head of Capital Markets.
In this role, he will lead a global team dedicated to capital raising and business development, while also working to partner with financial institutions, banks, investment banks, and funds.
Sola has experience in the international investment banking, asset management, and corporate sectors, as well as ground-up design, start-up, and management of new ventures, including licensed broker dealers and licensed investment advisors.
He is the former CEO and Co-Founder of Rewire Securities and Merion Square Capital and has also held senior roles at J.G. Wentworth and Swiss Re over his more than 25 years in industry.
Vesttoo praised Sola’s “in-depth understanding and development” of new corporate financing, capital raising, and investment strategies and implementation from both a corporate perspective as well as a banking and institutional investor one.
In particular, Vesttoo has been focusing on non-catastrophe insurance-linked investments to provide insurers with additional capacity from the capital markets and investors with non-volatile asset classes.

As the Global Head of Capital Markets, Sola will be responsible for raising capital commitments for Vesttoo’s various products, including its flagship insurance-linked program (ILP)–an insurance-linked investment portfolio that securitizes Life and P&C insurance portfolios in standardized financial instruments.
