Australian insurer Suncorp has announced a number of new executive leadership appointments, including Bridget Messer as Chief Executive Customer, Brand and Digital, a newly created role.
Messer, who previously served as Chief Risk Officer, will take over the new position to help Suncorp leverage artificial intelligence (AI) for faster and more efficient distribution of insurance products and services.
By bringing together existing brand, marketing and digital distribution teams, this dedicated function will enable Suncorp to capitalise on the competitive advantage provided by its suite of market-leading brands.
Lisa Harrison, former Chief Executive of Consumer Insurance, moved across to lead the Commercial & Personal Injury portfolios, and will retain accountability for the rollout of Suncorp’s Digital Insurer program.
Michael Miller moved from his position as Chief Executive Commercial & Personal Injury to take on the role of Chief Executive, Consumer Insurance.
As a result of these changes, Michelle Bain, Executive General Manager of Compulsory Third Party Insurance, will join the Executive Leadership Team as Suncorp’s Chief Risk Officer.
Throughout her time at Suncorp, Bain has held a range of senior leadership roles across the company, including Acting Group General Counsel, Executive General Manager Compliance, and Group Customer Advocate.
Suncorp CEO Steve Johnston commented: “As Suncorp moves through its platform modernisation and operational transformation agendas, the focus will move to leveraging these investments to create more contemporary products, deliver more personalised customer experiences, increase seamless digital self-service and use AI at scale to transform customer and claims processes.”
