Swiss Re has announced the promotion of Peter Ott as its new Senior Pricing Officer, effective from May 2023.
Ott has been with Swiss Re little over a year, in his previous role with the company he served as the Senior Property Treaty Underwriter.
His remit in the role included serving as the North American property treaty underwriter.
Prior to Swiss Re, he worked as an Actuary for Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance for almost five years.
His remit in the role of a Global Property Actuary was to take a lead on E&S Property Insurance (General Property, Energy/Technical, Builder’s Risk, Programs.) He was also incharge of global underwriting performance monitoring.
Ott started his career as a Senior Actuarial Analyst at Liberty Mutual Insurance where he served a period of five years.
Ott was responsible for commercial and personal insurance for the company. In commercial indurance he was incharge of ERM, reinsurance pricing and captive risk transfer testing, capital modeling, stochastic reserving, reserve cluster modeling. He also was responsible for dealing with small commercial and farm owners rate making, rate filing support for all 50 states, profitability studies, and educational material design.
In personal insurance, Ott looked after CAT modeling and management, new product development and pricing, proprietary catastrophe GLM modeling, CAT bond research, and distribution channel research.
