Swiss Re Corporate Solutions appoints James Gasco as the Canadian Head

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has announced that as of September 1st, James Gasco will be responsible for leading the Canadian business. Gasco will report to Katie McGrath, the CEO of North America, Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.

Gasco in this role, will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and will continue to build Swiss Re Corporate Solutions’ presence in the Canadian market.

Gasco will be based out of Toronto, and join the North America Regional Management Team. He will continue to serve as a member of the Canada Management Team for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.

McGrath commented on his hire, “With his strong leadership experience, established customer and broker relationships, and deep market knowledge, I am confident that James is ideally positioned to drive Swiss Re Corporate Solutions’ continued growth in the Canadian market.”

Gasco is a market veteran with 20 years of experience in the industry. Most recently Gasco served as the Head of Property & Specialty Canada, leading the team across General Property, Energy and Engineering and Construction lines.

Over the past three years, he has been instrumental in expanding Swiss Re Corporate Solutions’ presence across Canada, delivering significant growth and profitability. Gasco recently joined the Branch Management Committee for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions America Insurance Corporation – Canadian Branch.

Earlier in his career, Gasco was a Senior Underwriter at Temple Insurance (Munich Re) and a Senior Broker with Aon Reed Stenhouse.

Gasco succeeds Adrian Hall, who moves to London to become Head of UK, Ireland, South Africa and EMEA Wholesale for Swiss Re. The above is subject to the requisite governance and regulatory approvals.

In Canada, Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has offices in Toronto and Vancouver, as well as servicing capabilities in Montreal.
