Roman Hohl has announced that he is to begin a new role as senior nat cat solutions manager at Swiss Re.
The announcement, made on LinkedIn, has the Zurich-based Hohl returning to Swiss Re.
He had previously worked for the firm between 2007 and 2012 where he was head of agriculture for the Asia-Pacific Region. Hohl was also a director at the firm.
Hohl has also worked as chief executive officer of Asia Risk Centre between 2012 and 2015, where he was based in Singapore.
Between 2004 and 2007, he was the head of agriculture and client manager for reinsurance in Switzerland at Converium.
He also spent nearly four-and-a-half years at Partner Re between 2000 and 2004 where he was a senior underwriter for agriculture.
From 2016, Hohl has been working as an author, agricultural re/insurance expert, and board member.
His LinkedIn profile states that he has, since 2020, been a Board Member of the Swiss Hail Insurance Company and Member of the Risk Commission; since 2018 as a member of the Extended Management Team of Blue Mangrove, which invests in green infrastructure to reduce carbon emissions; a senior index insurance specialist for the International Finance Corporation between 2016 and 2019; and the author of Agriculture Risk Transfer: from Insurance to Reinsurance to Capital Markets.
