Swiss Re names Henock Teklu as its new CTO and Chief of Staff

Swiss Re has appointed Henock Teklu as its new Group Chief Transformation Officer and Group Chief of Staff.

swiss-re-logoTeklu joins the firm from BlackRock Investment Management in New York, where he spent over eight years, most recently serving as a Managing Director.

In his new role, he will lead and oversee Swiss Re’s enterprise-wide transformation agenda.

With 20 years of leadership experience across investment banking, insurance, and asset management, Teklu brings extensive strategic expertise to Swiss Re.

“He will help steer our long‑term agenda and drive progress across the Group as we advance our Built to Lead journey with discipline, transparency, and operational rigour,” Swiss Re said.

In other Swiss Re news, the global reinsurer recently developed and launched an online claims submission portal for life insurance beneficiaries in conjunction with Pan‑American Life Insurance Group (PALIG), a provider of life, accident, and health insurance throughout the Americas.

The new portal aims to expand digital access to the claims process and marks a significant milestone in PALIG’s digital transformation strategy and reinforces its commitment to service excellence.
