Reinsurance giant Swiss Re has appointed Claudia Cordioli as the new Group Finance Director, reporting to Group CFO John Dacey.
In her new role, Cordioli will oversee the Group Reporting, Group Tax, Accounting & Reporting and Finance Corporate Functions as well as the implementation of the IFRS framework across Finance.
Cordioli holds over 20 years of experience, having most recently been the CFO of Reinsurance since February 2020.
Before that, she was Head of Western & Southern Europe from 2018, leading Swiss Re’s reinsurance business in 15 countries.
Cordioli first joined Swiss Re in 2003 and held a range of positions in finance and the business, including CFO of EMEA, Head of Group External Reporting and Managing Director for Italy, Iberia and Mediterranean.
Prior to working at Swiss Re, she worked in a number of banking and consulting firms, including KPMG. She is also a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion and co-chairs Swiss Re’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council in Zurich.
Dacey commented: “Claudia Cordioli has a breadth of experience covering both business and finance functions, having worked in both areas in her numerous years at Swiss Re.
“She is well known for her drive and leadership skills as well as her track record in building strong teams and businesses. She was a natural choice for the role as Group Finance Director.
“I look forward to continue working closely with her in advancing our Finance function.”
