Reinsurance giant Swiss Re has added Samrat Dua to the newly created role of Chief InfoTech and Data Officer for Reinsurance and as a member of the Reinsurance Management Team, effective April 12th, 2021.
In his new role, Dua and his team will be tasked with advancing the tech and data capabilities across the firm’s Reinsurance business.
Dua, who currently serves as Chief Innovation & Transformation Officer and member of the Corporate Solutions Executive Committee, joined Swiss Re in 2005 and has since held various roles across the company.
Prior to Swiss Re, Dua served as a Manager of Consulting Services at Capgemini, Ernst & Young, where he had a focus on the healthcare insurance and financial services sectors, managing large teams to deliver data and tech solutions to clients.
Also effective April 12th, 2021, Ashley Hirst will take on Dua’s responsibilities in addition to his current role as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) Standard at Corporate Solutions. As part of his dual role, Hirst will continue to develop new, disruptive businesses with Corporate Solutions, including innovative solutions and services delivered directly to customers, and through partnerships with companies.
Before joining Swiss Re, Hirst held a number of senior level roles at AIG, including European Chief CUO and COO.
