Insurance broker The Clear Group has appointed Mandy Hunt as the Managing Director of its MGA business, subject to regulatory approval.
Hunt joins the main Clear Group operating board, and brings significant experience from several leadership roles in major insurance businesses, across broking and underwriting.
She was formerly the Chief Underwriting Officer for the commercial business at RSA and has over 30 years of experience within the insurance industry.

“Her appointment marks an important moment in our strategy as we continue to build our MGA capability for brokers. The Clear MGA strategy is growing at pace as we continue to attract underwriting firms and teams who we can develop and thrive by broadening and enhancing their proposition.”
Hunt has also served as the Managing Director of the Insurance Corporation of the Channel Islands, and Regional Manager for RSA’s Redhill trading site. She is the current chair of the CII’s Underwriting Community Board.
In 2023, The Clear Group diversified its portfolio by acquiring three MGA businesses, Profile Underwriting Limited, One Commercial Specialty Limited, and a 50% shareholding in Thomond Underwriting based in Ireland.
These acquisitions aim to develop an MGA capability, a central pillar of Clear’s growth strategy, providing a capability and international reach to brokers in the Irish and UK markets.
