The Hartford, a US insurance and financial services company offering property and casualty insurance, employee benefits and investment products, has appointed Randy Larsen to its Board of Directors, with the appointment taking effect on 1 September.
Larsen will join the Board’s Finance, Investment and Risk Management Committee, alongside the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.
The Hartford Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Christopher Swift commented: “Randy is a highly respected insurance-industry leader with deep expertise in transforming and scaling complex organisations and driving profitable growth.

Larsen brings extensive experience from across the insurance sector, including 13 years at AssuredPartners, an insurance brokerage specialising in commercial property and casualty, employee benefits, speciality insurance and personal lines cover for middle-market companies and individuals. He most recently served as AssuredPartners’ Chief Executive Officer between 2023 and 2025, before the company was acquired by Gallagher.
During his time at AssuredPartners, Larsen helped oversee the brokerage’s expansion, with responsibilities spanning business growth, acquisitions and operational improvements. Prior to becoming Chief Executive Officer, he held several leadership positions at the company, including President of Retail, President of Western Regions and President of Central States.
Before joining AssuredPartners, Larsen spent 14 years at Schifman Remley & Associates, an insurance brokerage where he became a partner before the firm was acquired by AssuredPartners in 2012. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles in banking, including serving as President of Mark Twain Bancshares and Mercantile Bancshares.
Larsen earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Nebraska Wesleyan University and will bring his experience in insurance operations, financial management and business growth to the company’s Board of Directors.
