“Our customers and brokers in Asia will have access to our growing team of specialised underwriters and claims personnel who possess a deep technical knowledge of the unique and complex risks placed in Singapore.

“I’m thrilled that Zhenghong will be leading the service company, bringing his deep understanding of the Asia market and underwriting excellence within the Financial Lines sector.”

The Hartford’s Lloyd’s Syndicate 1221 has had a presence in Asia for over 13 years, with established service companies in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

The newly launched operation in Singapore will initially focus on underwriting Financial Lines, as well as Credit and Political Risks coverage. In the future, The Hartford plans to broaden its product range across multiple industries, offering a wider array of risk solutions to its customers.

“We’re delighted to play our part in what is both an incredibly important milestone for The Hartford and the Lloyd’s Asia platform. Expansion of underwriting capabilities further bolster the capacity, expertise and talent in Singapore, improving market access and ultimately providing a better service to our customers,” commented Emma Loynes, Chief Executive Officer of Lloyd’s Asia.

Pan joined The Hartford in November 2024 from AXA XL in Singapore, where he led a team of underwriters and managed the financial lines portfolio. His leadership played a key role in fostering important market relationships and shaping business strategies. Additionally, Pan was a member of AXA XL’s Singapore Executive Committee.

“It’s an honour to lead The Hartford Singapore and further expand the company’s international reach,” Pan commented. “We aim to create an extraordinary experience for our brokers and customers, allowing them access to invaluable services such as our economic and geopolitical research team.”
