Third Point Reinsurance, the hedge fund strategy reinsurer backed by Daniel Loeb’s Third Point LLC, has announced a series of changes to its executive team, subject to Bermuda Department of Immigration and regulatory approval.
Daniel Malloy was promoted from Chief Underwriting Officer to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Third Point Reinsurance Company Ltd., replacing Robert Bredahl who was appointed to CEO of Third Point Re USA and remains President and CEO of Third Point Reinsurance Ltd.
Bredahl succeeds John Berger who has stepped down from the role and will take up a position as Chairman of the Board.
Manoj Gupta, has been promoted to President of Third Point Re, USA, succeeding Thomas Wafer who stepped down from the role and was elected to Chairman of the Board.
All appointments, role changes, and promotions will come into effect from August 3rd.
The changes are all related to a previously planned executive leadership reshuffle to accommodate the retirement of John Berger from the role of CEO.
