Reinsurance brokerage, risk and capital strategic advisory TigerRisk Partners LLC has announced the appointment of Jonathan Hughes as a Partner in its London-based Retro team.
Hughes joins TigerRisk from Aon, where he most recently served as a Senior Broker specialising in retro and other protections for Lloyd’s Syndicates.
Prior to that, he was a Senior Vice President and Actuarial Lead for the London Market Specialty Lines Division at AXIS.
“Jonathan has a wealth of experience being one of the industry’s foremost retrocession specialists,” said Rod Fox, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TigerRisk. “He will be an invaluable asset to TigerRisk, and more importantly, our clients.”
Hughes began his career as a Junior Actuary at Guy Carpenter, eventually becoming leader of its actuarial team and specialising in the development of mathematical optimisation tools to support and structure transactions.
In his new role, he will report to Alex Bridges, Head of TigerRisk’s Retro team, who commented: “We’re very excited to have Jonathan join the team at a time when our clients need the best-in-class thought leadership and innovation around new retro products,” said Mr. Bridges.
