Sompo Canopius AG has named Tim Phillips from Deutsche Bank as credit & political risk underwriter, effective August 30th, 2017.
While at Deutsche Bank, Phillips held the position as head of credit for Russia/CIS & EE.
In his new role Phillips will be responsible for underwriting a wide range of credit and political risks, and will report to head of the credit & political risk team and global head of specialty, Bernie de Haldevang.
de Haldevang, said; “Tim has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the complexity of credit risk; with a detailed understanding of the country and market risk, operational, regulatory and other issues that have to be taken into account. He will be a great asset to our team and I know that our clients and broker partners will appreciate his expertise and the added value he can offer.”
In recent times Sompo Canopius has made a number of hires within its credit & political risks team, which is part of the company’s plans to increase its diversification and expand its specialty lines business.
