Toa Re America makes three leadership appointments

Toa Re America (TRA) has appointed David Kavula and Kim Brown as Senior Vice Presidents Treaty Underwriting.

handshake-close-up-photoBoth positions report to Brian Sabia, Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer.

Kavula joins TRA from Everest Re where he recently held the position of Vice President Treaty Underwriting Casualty.

Prior to Everest Re, he held a variety of underwriting positions at Everest and Munich Re after starting his underwriting career at AIG.

Kavula brings over 18 years of underwriting experience to TRA along with his JD from Seaton Hall University School of Law.

Brown previously worked for Munich Re where she spent thirty years of her reinsurance career.

She recently held the position of Senior Vice President, Treaty Underwriting Casualty, where she was the Underwriting Leader of the Umbrella line of business expert group.

Brown brings a wealth of underwriting knowledge and broker relationships to TRA along with her CPCU and ARe designations.

TRA also announced the appointment of Anthony Katz as Vice President, Senior Actuary reporting to Julie Halper, Executive Vice President and Chief Actuary.

He joins from Everest Re where he was the Head of Reinsurance Reserving. He comes to TRA with over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry.

They bring years of experience and expertise in underwriting all lines of casualty business. Adding these two underwriters to our current team will assist us greatly as we diversify and build out our portfolio.”
