Toa Re has appointed Tom Passante as senior vice president and senior actuary.
Passante will report directly to Julie Halper, executive vice president and chief actuary, in his new role. Halper, meanwhile, was appointed to her role in August of last year.
Dick Sanford, CEO of the firm, said: “Tom is a welcome addition to our growing team of talented actuarial professionals. His unique blend of experience and acumen will only serve to enhance our customer centric approach.”
Halper said in a statement that she was thrilled to welcome Passante to the company’s growing actuarial team and that his broad range of experience would be an asset to the firm going forwards.
Passante was previously at Everest Re, where he held a number of senior roles including chief reinsurance pricing actuary, chief risk officer, and most recently head of actuarial independent analysis.
