The insurance firm Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK) has appointed George Leahy as an Underwriter in its Liability division, enhancing its underwriting bench strength, he will report directly to Oliver Delaney, Departmental Head of Liability.
Leahy has eight years of experience in casualty underwriting to the role. He joins from Sompo International, where he focused on International Casualty risks, with particular emphasis on heavy industry sectors. There, he was responsible for managing a broad book of mid-sized and large-scale clients across Canada and Australia.
Before that, he spent five years at Ascot Underwriting, building specialist knowledge across Construction, Energy and Mining classes. His work covered risks throughout Canada, Australia, Europe and Latin America, giving him wide-ranging international exposure.
The appointment comes shortly after Oliver Delaney’s promotion to lead TMK’s Liability division, reflecting the insurer’s ongoing commitment to reinforcing its expertise and market standing within the class.
Delaney added: “George is a strong addition to our Liability team. His extensive technical grounding in international casualty, particularly across complex, heavy-industry sectors, coupled with his proven understanding of the Lloyd’s market, will support our continued expansion and strengthen our underwriting capability.
