Tysers, an independent Lloyd’s broker and part of AUB Group, has announced that in early 2023, it will welcome more than 20 new hires to the business.

TysersThey will join divisions across the business, including North America P&C, Marine & Aviation, Reinsurance and Retail, according to Tysers.

The addition of this new talent, the firm stated, is part of Tysers’ strategy to expand core areas of the firm, build out teams and seize opportunities for growth.

As part of its drive to attract new talent, Tysers launched its apprenticeship programme in September 2022. The 18-month programme, which will be repeated in 2023, combines on the job learning and study and leads to a formal qualification and a permanent position for the next generation of Tysers.

Candidates were recruited from across the UK and have joined teams in London, Manchester and Colchester.

Clive Buesnel, CEO Tysers, said: “We’re on a terrific trajectory at Tysers and extremely excited about 2023. It was wonderful to close 2022 as part of AUB Group, welcome Andrew Kendrick as our new chair of Tysers and we are delighted to be attracting market-leading professionals who want to be part of our future.”

Buesnel added: “Our apprentices have brought great energy and new ideas to Tysers, and we are reaching candidates who, otherwise, might not have considered a career in insurance. This is just one of the measures we are taking to evolve our culture and build a workforce where talent thrives, regardless of background.

“We are also very excited to have entered into a sponsorship partnership with iCAN, a dynamic, multicultural network that supports inclusion and celebrates diversity across the insurance sector. Tysers is looking forward to collaborating with iCAN to drive positive change across the industry.”
