United Fire Group has appointed Julie Stephenson, the ex-Global Head of Casualty Reinsurance at Swiss Re, as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
Stephenson’s appointment is effective January 30, 2023.
In her new role, Stephenson will be responsible for the overall operational performance of UFG, which will involve her overseeing strategic efforts to drive profitable growth across the company’s various business segments.
Stephenson brings over 25 years of industry experience towards her new role. She spent just over one year in her previous role at Swiss Re.
Prior to joining Swiss Re, she worked at CNA Insurance. During her tenure at the firm, she served as Senior Vice President (SVP) and Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), before being promoted later on to SVP, CUO, Commercial Middle Market, CNA Insurance.
Additionally, Stephenson also previously held the role of Global Liability Manager at Chubb.
