United Risk, an international property and casualty insurance underwriting and a division of Applied Underwriters, has announced the appointment of Richard Christofer as President and Chief Commercial Officer, among a number of other promotions and hires.
In his new role, based at the company’s corporate headquarters at Rockefeller Center in New York, Christofer will be responsible for the recruitment and acquisition of new underwriting programs and the oversight of United Risk’s existing programs.

Christofer, who held positions at AIG, Guy Carpenter, and Gen Re before joining United Risk, stated: “This is a great time to be in the MGA business. Our concept has been growth through bolt-ons and recruitment of the very best talent.

In addition to Christofer’s appointment, United Risk has promoted Dónal Corcoran to Head of International Business Development.
