Vantage Group Holdings Ltd. (Vantage), a specialty re/insurance business, has appointed Lucy Fato as its new General Counsel as the company moves into its next phase following its acquisition by Howard Hughes Holdings.
In her new position, Fato will become part of Vantage’s leadership team and will advise Marc Grandisson, the company’s Executive Chairman, on strategic matters.
Fato brings more than 30 years of experience spanning legal affairs, regulatory matters, compliance and corporate governance across the insurance and wider financial services sectors.
Most recently, she was Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Seaport Entertainment Group (SEG), a position she took when the company was separated from Howard Hughes Holdings in August 2024.
Her previous senior positions include Vice Chair and General Counsel at American International Group (AIG), where she was responsible for the organisation’s global legal, compliance, communications and government affairs activities. She has also served as General Counsel and Head of the Americas at private investigations firm Nardello & Co., General Counsel at S&P Global, formerly McGraw Hill Financial, and Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Marsh McLennan.
Fato started her legal career at Davis Polk & Wardwell, where she spent 14 years. During that time, she became a partner in the firm’s capital markets practice and spent five years in that role.
Fato’s appointment comes after Howard Hughes Holdings completed its acquisition of the company in June 2026. The change in leadership also follows the departure of Bobbi Anderson, who has stepped down as Vantage’s General Counsel.
Vantage Executive Chairman Marc Grandisson commented: “Lucy is a proven leader with a track record of guiding our industry’s most respected companies through growth and transformation, and her judgment across complex legal and regulatory matters will be a tremendous asset to us. Her arrival strengthens our foundation as we position Vantage for long-term value creation.”
“I am thrilled to join Vantage at such a pivotal moment and to be able to continue working with the leadership teams at Howard Hughes Holdings and Pershing Square as we look to the exciting future of Vantage,” added Fato.
She continued: “The company has an innovative and distinctive approach and I look forward to partnering with Marc and the entire team at Vantage to support our next chapter of growth.”
