Pacific Life Re has announced that the Managing Director of its Europe operation, Darren Spriggs, has decided to step down from the company and will be replaced by SCOR’s Vincent Lepez.
Spriggs has been with the company for almost four years and has helped Pacific Life Re Europe make important steps in the protection and longevity markets.
His replacement, Lepez, is set to join in August of this year from global insurer and reinsurer SCOR, where he has held a number of roles over the last seven years. This includes Global Chief Pricing Actuary, and more recently as Head of Asia, Continental Europe and Latin America Markets.
Commenting on his departure, Spriggs said: “Pacific Life Re has been a great opportunity and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here working with the very talented Europe team. We’ve achieved a lot together over the past four years and I believe they are well set for further future growth. Nonetheless, the time has come for me to step down as Managing Director and I’m looking forward to my next challenge.”
Pacific Life Re’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dave Howell, said: “I’d like to thank Darren for his hard work and dedication to Pacific Life Re and I look forward to working with Vincent, building on the strong foundations that Darren has put in place for the Europe business unit. Vincent brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience and I’m pleased to be welcoming him to Pacific Life Re.
“I’d also like to thank Martin for his dedication and commitment to UnderwriteMe over the past eight years.”
It was announced recently that James Tait is to leave his position as Head of Protection at Pacific Life Re, Europe and take on the role of CEO of UnderwriteMe, after the departure of Martin Werth.
Commenting on his new role, Lepez said: “Having worked in the life insurance industry for the last 10 years, I have seen Pacific Life Re grow over time into the successful global business that it is today. I am very excited to be joining the talented Pacific Life Re team.”
