Ageas Group’s reinsurance brand, Ageas Re, has named Vincent Rensonnet Lead Underwriter for Latin America and Iberia within its property underwriting team, headed by Jeremy Walker.
As a non-life treaty underwriter, Rensonnet brings to the firm more than 21 years of professional experience in the international reinsurance industry.
He joins Ageas Re after serving as Vice President for Latin America at SiriusPoint, a global provider of insurance and reinsurance services.
Prior to that, he spent time with Sirius International Insurance Corporation – before it became SiriusPoint – where he joined as P&C Underwriter for France in 2001 before being appointed P&C Underwriter for France and Latin America in 2009.
Ageas expanded its reinsurance activities to the open market and writing third-party business – trading under the brand Ageas Re – back in September 2022.
In recent years, the company’s reinsurance business has grown from an internal activity to a significant segment of the group with a top line of €1.6 billion and net profit of €87 million in 2021.
