W. R. Berkley Corporation has appointed S. Akbar Khan as president of Preferred Employers Insurance, a specialty provider of workers’ compensation insurance exclusively for California employers.
Berkley describes Khan as an accomplished property and casualty insurance executive with more than two decades of industry experience. His extensive leadership knowledge reportedly spans functional roles in underwriting, distribution, strategy, and operations.
Khan succeeds Dennis J. Levesque in the role, who Berkley credits with fortifying its position as an exceptional insurance provider in the California workers’ compensation market for small and mid-sized businesses.
Levesque will support Khan and the Preferred Employers Insurance team throughout the transition, which is effective immediately.
