Walter Voigts-von Foster becomes CEO of Munich Re Africa

Walter Voigts-von Foster has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Munich Re Africa, a role he will hold alongside his responsibilities as Head of Non‑Life.

“It’s a privilege to lead such a fantastic team, and I’m excited about what we will continue to achieve together as we deliver on our future ambitions,” Voigts-von Foster commented.

He is taking over the role from Nico Conradie, who served as CEO of Munich Re Africa for the last ten years.

“My sincere gratitude to Nico Conradie for your outstanding leadership and the strong foundation you have built. Thank you Roland Eckl for your trust and strong support of Munich Re Africa. And a big thank you to all colleagues who have made our journey so far so successful!” Voigts-von Foster added.

A veteran of the industry, Voigts-von Foster has been with Munich Re for nearly two decades.

He officially joined the Africa division in 2023 as Head of Non‑Life following. Before that he spent a year as Designated Head of Non-Life for Munich Re Africa. Prior to this he was Head of Aviation Treaty.
