Westfield Specialty names Joseph England as CUO, international division

In a strategic move aimed at bolstering its presence in the international specialty market, Westfield Specialty has announced the appointment of Joseph England as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) for its international division.

Reporting directly to Graham Evans, Executive Vice President and Head of International Insurance, England is poised to play a pivotal role in the expansion of Westfield Specialty’s global footprint.

Graham Evans, in welcoming England, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We are thrilled to have Joe join Westfield Specialty International and be a part of our executive team. Joe will lead our international underwriting strategy as we continue to evolve the Westfield Specialty business globally. His extensive underwriting experience in the London and Lloyd’s markets, alongside a proven track record in managing high-performing specialty businesses, will be a major asset to our operation.”

Westfield Specialty, known for its deep underwriting expertise and product line proficiency, is set to benefit significantly from England’s wealth of knowledge and experience.

President Jack Kuhn added, “Adding Joe to our team will support our further expansion into new markets as we focus on building our products, staff, and broker relationships. As we continue to explore new opportunities, we will remain methodical, strategic, and focused on profitability.”

This appointment comes on the heels of Westfield Specialty’s remarkable growth trajectory. In 2022, the company wrote an impressive $1 billion in gross written premiums, and by the end of 2023, it is projected to surpass $1.3 billion in gross written premiums.
