Insurance broker Willis, a WTW business, has made four senior leadership appointments in Asia to support the ongoing growth and expansion of its specialty businesses in the region.
Effective immediately, Nicki Tilney is Head of Natural Resources, Iris Chan has been named Head of Construction, Sui Jin Wong Deputy Head of Construction, and Steve Hutchinson has been appointed Head of Corporate Risk and Broking (CRB), Hong Kong and Macau.
These appointments align with the firm’s ambitions to engage in the significant opportunities within the Natural Resources and Construction industries in Asia.
Most recently, Tilney served as the Head of Natural Resources and Construction Asia, leading the combined portfolio through a period of growth and regional connectivity.
In her new role, she leads the Asia Natural Resources business, reflecting the scale and strategic importance of the sector, and strengthening Willis’ position as a specialty broker and risk advisor for global energy transition.
Chan will continue to oversee Willis Construction’s business in Hong Kong and Macau. Wong will partner with and support her in expanding the business.
Iain Drennan, Head of Construction, Asia Pacific, Willis, commented on the appointments, “Both Iris and Sui Jin have established track records in leading our construction business in Asia.
“Iris is devoted to seeking innovative and the best risk transfer solutions for our clients, including infrastructure, superstructure, hospitality, energy and power projects in the region.
“She will capitalise on her management experience and industry expertise to grow our Construction business in the region, supporting companies in managing their current and emerging risks faced in the industry, jointly with Sui Jin.”
With Chan stepping into her new role, Hutchinson will assume the position of Head of CRB, Hong Kong and Macau. This is in addition to his existing role as Head of Property & Casualty (P&C) Hong Kong and Macau.
Hutchinson will be responsible for all aspects of Willis business in the territories with his expanded position. He will lead Willis’ local team of risk advisors and brokers, working closely with its specialty business regionally, to bring smart and quality risk resilience solutions to clients in Hong Kong and Macau.
Luke Ware, Head of Asia, WTW, added, “These leadership changes and appointments mark a pivotal step in advancing our ambitious long-term strategy for Asia.
“By deepening our specialty expertise and expanding our leadership bench, we are better positioned to deliver more innovative, client-focused solutions and prepare our clients for a changing tomorrow.”
