Global reinsurance broker Willis Re has made two senior hires in its North America unit, with the appointment of Tom Wafer as Chairman, Willis Re, North America, and Jeffrey Livingston as Vice-Chair.
Tom Wafer joins Willis Re from hedge fund strategy reinsurer Third Point Re (USA) Ltd., where he held the role of President. Before his time at Third Point Re, Wafer was Chairman of Global Reinsurance for Alterra.
Livingston has more than 25 years of reinsurance industry experience, most recently at Marsh and McLennan where he was Director of Portfolio Solutions. Livingston had previously been at Willis Re in 1998, after he left a role at Sedgwick Re, taking on roles of Vice President and then Executive Vice President in 2005.
The two appointments also constitute the formation of the ‘Office of the Chairman’ for Willis Re, North America, a position that will be tasked with strengthening client relationships across North America, as well as offering guidance and mentoring for Willis Re employees.
