WTW makes senior hire for Luxembourg

Advisory and broking solutions company, WTW has appointed Alain Dufraisse as Managing Director of its Luxembourg Captive and Insurance Management Solutions (CIMS) office.

WTW - Willis Towers Watson logoWithin this role, he will report to Elizabeth Carbonaro, WTW CIMS regional lead for Western Europe.

Overall, Dufraisse brings over 30 years of industry experience towards the role. Over the course of his career, he has held leadership positions in leading insurance management organisations, including Barents Re and Aon, and across various European domiciles, including the Isle of Man, Luxembourg, Ireland, Gibraltar, and Malta.

His career has also seen him lead the set-up, redomiciliation and ongoing management of many different insurance and reinsurance companies, including open market carriers, captives, and protected cell companies.

Addressing his appointment, Dufraisse said: “What really struck me during my first discussions with the WTW management was their listening skills, focus on people, and dedication to their clients’ needs. I am delighted to be joining WTW and am determined help grow its Luxembourg business significantly.”

Carbonaro, added: “Alain will add strength to the in-domicile leadership team in Luxembourg and his appointment reflects the importance we place on this major European jurisdiction.”

In addition, WTW recently announced the appointment of Jamie Lee as Managing Director, Head of Upstream Energy, North America, in its Natural Resources business.

Meanwhile, WTW recently announced the launch of Risk Intelligence Quantified (Risk IQ), a platform designed and aimed to help risk specialists to understand and navigate their business’s risk portfolio.
