Global insurance brokerage WTW has announced the appointment of Tony Simm as Head of Facultative for Great Britain, a London-based role.
Prior to his promotion, Simm was Head of London Market Retro at WTW, a role he held since 2022 when he joined the company.
The executive brings more than 15 years of industry experience across the Direct and Facultative reinsurance sector, having rejoined WTW after a close to seven year tenure at Gallagher Re and over three years at Guy Carpenter.
In his new role, Simm will be reporting to Garret Gaughan, Global Head of Direct and Facultative, who commented: “Tony’s extensive industry knowledge, experience and relationships made him our top choice for this important role. He will be greatly valued within our talented and diverse team as we continue to grow.
“Our recent Facultative survey highlighted the shift away from a transactional view of Facultative reinsurance and a move towards using it as a tool to achieve strategic objectives and priorities. Tony will lead the focus on delivering the solutions our cedants need to meet their objectives.”
Simm added: “I am delighted to bring my industry experience for the benefit of both cedants and markets within my role as Head of Facultative for Great Britain.
“I look forward to progressing WTW’s specialised industry focused approach and driving our commitment to meeting cedant needs in the Facultative reinsurance space.”
