About 8.5 million Florida properties are at significant risk of potential wind damage from Hurricane Irma, according to Analytics and data-solutions provider, CoreLogic.
Data analysis released yesterday shows an estimated 8.5 million residential and commercial Florida properties are at either “Extreme”, “Very High” or “High” risk of Hurricane Irma wind damage.
Furthermore, some 3.5 million properties are at risk of hurricane-driven storm surge damage, according to CoreLogic.
CoreLogic said these estimates don’t include potential damage from inland flooding.
The estimates are for single-family residential structures less than four stories, including mobile homes, duplexes, manufactured homes and cabins, among other non-traditional home types, and don’t count high-rise residential units, where many homes are high enough off the ground to likely not be affected by storm surge.
