American Association of Insurance Services (AAIS) has announced the selection of Werner E. Kruck as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective June 26, 2023.

handshakeWith an extensive background in the insurance industry, Kruck brings over 45 years of experience to his new role.

He has held various leadership positions in insurance and insurance-related companies, including Security First Managers, American Modern Insurance Group, Markel Corporation, and American International Underwriters.

Kruck has also served on the AAIS Board of Directors since 2018.

The decision to appoint Kruck follows a comprehensive search process that identified several highly qualified candidates. The AAIS Board of Directors ultimately determined that Kruck’s deep industry knowledge, familiarity with the AAIS organization, and commitment to its market position and future strategy made him the ideal choice for the role.

David Duclos, Chairperson of AAIS, expressed confidence in Kruck’s abilities, stating, “It became clear that no one is more qualified than Werner Kruck to lead AAIS going forward.”

Kruck will succeed Ed Kelly, who served as President and CEO of AAIS for over 11 years. Under Kelly’s leadership, AAIS established a strong foundation for its future growth.

Duclos commended Kelly for his stewardship, acknowledging AAIS’s modern approach to advisory solutions, dedication to member success, and outstanding reputation for service.

In response to his appointment, Kruck expressed his gratitude for his long association with AAIS and his excitement for the future. Having been involved with the organisation for over three decades, both as a member and as a board member, Kruck values the value AAIS delivers to its member carriers, regulators, and partners.

He also praised the talented professionals at AAIS, recognising their contribution to the organisation’s success. Looking ahead, Kruck is enthusiastic about building upon the achievements of Ed Kelly’s tenure and driving even greater value for the AAIS community.
