ABIR announces new industry leaders

The Association of Bermuda Insurers & Reinsurers (ABIR) has made several appointments to lead its committees and working groups.

AbirThe entity’s Policy Committee, which reviews public policy and re/insurance regulation in Bermuda and internationally,  will be led by co-chairs Edward Mishambi, Senior Vice President, Chief Risk Officer of Europe at Renaissance Re and Gemma Carreiro, General Counsel, Hamilton Insurance Group.

Tim Peckett, General Counsel, Arch Reinsurance, will serve as Deputy Chair. The Committee will be staffed by Suzanne Williams-Charles, ABIR Director of Policy & Regulation, Corporate Secretary and Data Privacy Officer.

The ABIR Cyber Working Group, which advises on market trends and products related to the cyber market, will be led by Co-Chairs, Devin Page, Head of Specialty Reinsurance at Hiscox Re and Allen Wilson, Chief Information Security Officer at Axis Capital.

The association also announced that Andrew Hughes, who is the current CEO, Third-Party Capital, Partner Re will lead the ABIR ILS/Alternative Capital Working Group.

The ABIR Human Resources Working Group, which focuses on all aspects of talent and culture, is to be led by Co-Chairs Lisa Robinson, Head of HR & Operations, Convex Re and Randolph Simons, Vice President and Senior HR Business Partner, Global Reinsurance/Director, Compensation and Benefits at Chubb.

The ABIR Data & Privacy Taskforce will be chaired by Jim Paugh, General Counsel, Chubb Bermuda. While the ABIR Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee will be led by Catherine R Duffy, Country Leader, AIG.

Additionally, the ABIR has announced the formation of the ABIR Climate Risk Committee, which will be led by Chair Jeffrey Manson, SVP, Head of Global Public Sector Partnerships, RenaissanceRe.
